Sacked NA 20 file contempt appeal

Source: The National -Friday, October 21st 2011

SACKED members of the National Alliance Party led by Don Polye have filed contempt proceedings against party executives.
Polye is amongst 20 members who were sacked by the party executives for conduct deemed not in the interest of the party when they joined Peter O’Neill and members of the Opposition to oust the government headed by NA at the time.
The National Court had ruled on Oct 5 that Polye had been the NA leader after he sought redress in court.
Yesterday, the purportedly sacked members indicated in court to include themselves as plaintiffs aligned with Polye.
It was alleged that the party executives were in contempt of a court which restrained them (executives) from interfering with the duties and responsibilities of Polye as NA leader.
The executives are expected to file their response on Monday.
The suspensions of the members are also expected to be part of what is to be argued on the hearing date set for Oct 31.
What is even more intriguing is the fact that this group had sought to take this action as last Sunday they purportedly voted out the NA executives and voted in a caretaker executive
